It is known that there are many individuals, in and around the The State of South Carolina, who are thought of as “Angels on Earth.” These individuals work tirelessly; giving of their time, energy, and money, to make a positive difference for others in their communities, while neither seeking nor expecting anything in return.
The Host of this event seeks to create an opportunity to thank these “Angels,” to show them that they are appreciated, by giving them “Their Flowers” while they are alive. The host also seeks to utilize this event to open the eyes of others, to see that they too can do positive things that will change lives, and make a real difference in our communities.
The event's theme for 2022 is all about TOGETHERNESS! This is a year in which the goal is for everyone to come together, work together, and heal together with pure LOVE as we remember and honor the lives and legacy of The Emanuel 9, The Charleston 9, and The Albright & Wilson 9 Victims; show appreciation to their families, and recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of 18 awesome Servant Leaders from The United States and Abroad!
The Spot Light Awards 2018, 2019, and 2020 proved to be perfect examples of how individuals (Servant Leaders/ Angels) who work tirelessly to help others in their communities, truly make a tremendous positive difference.

Fair Deal Grocery “The Spot 47” is a business that was opened in 1953 by Paul and Gladys Powell, and it has been a family owned staple of the community; providing a multitude of services and community support, for the last 67+ years. Being that the business has been around all of these years, the owners are fully aware of the difference that one positive individual can make in a community.
As a matter of fact, The Late Mrs. Gladys Davis Powell Fludd, was always that individual for the store’s neighborhood, on the east side of the city. The Seeds of Love, that she planted over the many years, are still producing positive outcomes to this day!
